Restore sound on your own
Many TV issues can be fixed by simply restarting your
receivers.
1.
Hold down the POWER button for ten seconds.
2.
Next, Press it again to restart the receiver.
(This takes approximately 5-8 minutes and will affect any DVR recordings in
progress.)
3.
Restart multiple receivers by unplugging all for
5 seconds.
If restarting receiver didn’t resolve sound problems, try
the following tips:
1.
Tune to another channel to check if the
volume problem is limited to just with a single channel or all channels. If it’s just a single channel, return to the
channel and see if the sound has returned.
It may be a problem with the station provider and not U-verse.
2.
Make sure all connections are secure
between your receiver and your TV.
3.
If you're using a home theater system,
check to see that the power is on and the correct output is selected. Make sure
the volume is not muted and is turned up on that system.
4.
Restart your Residential Gateway if you still
are having trouble. Keep in mind this will interrupt your TV and net
service still as any recordings in progress. Unplug the power cable for 5
seconds and plug back in. Wait until the Service lights are green. It may take
up to 4 minutes.
No sound, the picture only
The most possible cause would be the DVR got muted. But, the
reset ought to have brought it back. Simply to make sure - program the remote
att/ok (simultaneously) - 955-ENTER. Then in att mode hit vol up - look for 25
on the TV screen.
Reset program: - att/ok-955-tv-enter
Another chance - the DVR is about to surround sound &
the TV doesn't have a surround decoder. Reset the DVR to stereo.
Or The DVR isn't set to English.
Or, the TV is set to analog sound rather than digital.
If the HDMI audio doesn't work, connect the audio with
red/white RCA jacks & set the TV audio to analog. If the TV doesn't have
that HDMI option, you'll use the component cable for the video & the
red/white for the audio.
If you're still facing an issue with one channel, it may be
due to at&t outage.Find more details on the at&t outage map, att email login and att bill pay.
